RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} E/JNR.{Charles L. Jenner}3/HP.22.9.32. re Peregrine Connecting Rods. We send you herewith blueprint Lec.3211 showing three designs of experimental connecting rods. We should like two models made, one of design No.2. and one of design No.3., so that we may compare the weight and the cost with our standard rod, which has the exterior oil pipe attached to it. In regard to the size of the hole up the centre of the rod, I have spoken to Sft.{Mr Swift} and Ws. about the minimum size, and they both say that .187" hole can be produced, and possibly .150". It may be of interest to you that the Cadillac connecting rod, which is longer than our Peregrine, and is 9 1/4" centres, is drilled up with a .218" hole. E/JNR.{Charles L. Jenner} | ||
