Bentley (High Power).

We have had considerable trouble with overheating and pre-ignition on the original high power head Ex.20943.

(1) Will you please take a further casting off the above pattern for sawing up to inspect the waterways.

(2) Following this, the pattern to be altered to Ex.22419 which reduces the combustion chamber section to .250" and deletes stud boss webs for improved circulation. Two castings to be taken off the pattern thus altered.

(3) Following (2), further pattern alteration to Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}112 which is more experimental, having a lowered spark plug position, improved sweep in the exhaust ports and the section around the spark plugs cut down. Two castings to be taken off this pattern.

These are very urgent as the overheating trouble is our biggest problem.
