Martindale} JPB Re: Letter from OY. dated 26.1.57 I do not agree with OY, who contends that because the amplitude of the vibration of the sprung mass of a car is small the mode of vibration will be unaffected by the position of the elastic supports. Is not the amplitude of a "key" of a xylophone small and does not the mode of vibration depend entirely on the position of the supports?
