REPORT ON 19-G4 15,000 MILES.

Replying to Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}1/WFS.11.31.

FRONT WHEEL WOBBLING. - We have not found a satisfactory solution for the loss of loading on the cross-steering tube. We have run chassis in the bump to try and reproduce this, but have not been successful. 19-G4 steering is the same as all 25 HP. cars which have been produced.

BRAKES.
It was found that a certain amount of oil had got on to the servo. This would have the effect of decreasing the power of the front brakes more than the rear. On 18-G4 which has just gone to France, we have increased the proportion of the servo which will give a little more front braking.

TELEGAUGE.
The telegauge appears to be very reliable when fitted to any other car but a Rolls-Royce. 18-G4. is fitted up with an electric gauge, but we should not like it to be thought that this is the complete solution of our troubles.

IGNITION COIL.
The condenser fitted to 19-G4. was less capacity than standard. This may have partly contributed to the missing fire, but we know that all 25 HP. cars are liable to do this. 18-G4. car is running with a stronger coil.

CLUTCH.
The slipping of the clutch was caused by oil getting on to the it. It has been arranged to make better provision for draining the oil. 18-G4. car which is in France has also on stronger clutch springs.

VALVES AND GUIDES.
18-G4. is fitted with exhaust valves having larger diameter stem and different shape head, which we hope will overcome some of our valve troubles.

EXHAUST SYSTEM.
18-G4. is fitted with the modified exhaust system. We have received further designs from N... After these have been tried out at Derby we propose sending a set out to France
