Dear Robotham,
Thank you for your letter of the 19th and the reminder of my promise to visit you. I am at last hoping to be able to make the trip, probably sometime next week.
Things have been very difficult at Leyland ever since the New Year, as we have had so many of the Staff away and, in addition, have been snowed up for some considerable time.
Am I to take it that the invitation extends to Pilkington as well, or would you prefer me to come alone. I know Pilkington is anxious to discuss certain things with you but I will leave the decision until I have your reply.
Yours sincerely,
