| COPY To Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Weybridge. 31.10.33. As reported yesterday the track was not available until noon today. We therefore ran mileage on the road during the morning. The engine is running smoother and compressions have improved. The oil temperature however is the deciding factor for the lap speeds. One and a half laps is the maximum at full throttle to keep the oil temp. below 105°C. The oil consumption is still poor. Upon checking the valve clearance before starting this morning an average of .005" had been lost in all the valves. No.6 exhaust had lost .005". These were re-set and the clearance checked over again cold in the morning. Total miles since leaving Derby 887. Day's miles on track 266. Average speed 78 m.p.h. Total miles on track 490. 31.10.33. Miles on road 243. Average speed 42 m.p.h. Average petrol consumption 11.1 m.p.g. Average oil consumption 266 m.p.g. Average air temp. on track 10.5°C. Average oil temp. 101.1°C.
