X8090 By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} SFT{Mr Swift}10/EMM.17.12.24. Memo. BY19/H.15.12.24. We have thoroughly weighed up the possibilities of converting Camshafts E.70275 (118°) into Camshafts E.71994 (110°). We find that providing you agree to allow the cam forms to be ground 10 thous undersize, then all the shafts which are not up to the hardened stage could be re-milled to give the cam form E.71994 low lift but with 115° instead of 110°. The present position in the shop is that we have 28 camshafts which are hardened and ground; these of course cannot be altered and will either have to be used or scrapped. In addition to that we have 65 which are in a rough cam milled condition and these of course could be altered in accordance with particulars given above. May we have your instructions please? In the meantime the job is held up. SFT.{Mr Swift} | ||
