Commutator wear very little. Some oil from the gearing appears to have got on to the commutator, making it black and sticky. Brushes sticky in their holders; the wear of the brushes was normal for this type of machine. Cut-Out. This is of the double-contact type, and was found to be in good condition. Headlamps. One of these was badly damaged in accident. The other was alright apart from the lampholder mounting being loose. Stop-Lamp Switch. This was in good condition. Starter Main Switch. Condition good. Starter Motor. The gears were found to be noisy, while the drive was inclined to stick on the shaft. One brush was sticking in its holder. Windscreen Wiper Motor. Condition good. Fog Lamp.
