The car is now most difficult to start. It is necessary to kick the accelerator pedal several times to get it to fire at all. We should like an investigation to be made and a report issued as to exactly what the trouble is. (2) WIND NOISES. Wind noises are bad. These should be dealt with with the usual rubber strips. (3) SPEEDOMETER. The trip is again wrong. This is the trouble we used to have with our speedometers and we do not expect it with up-to-date instruments. We should like the speedometer to be removed and an examination made without disturbing any of the pieces and the instruments to be sent to Smith's for their inspection. (4) ENGINE NOISES. The fan-belt is very noisy on this engine. If the pulleys are the trouble they should be changed. If, on the other hand, the pulleys are up-to-date, we should like to know. The tappets are, of course, very noisy as set. We should like them to be re-set to .010 to get an idea of how much the idling deteriorates; also whether they are reasonably silent. (5) BRAKES. The brakes are smooth, progressive and well equalised. - Continued - | ||
