X4432 Mr Shelton. c. EF. c. HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. SPT. c. WG.{Mr Gill - Financial Director} HY{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer}1-P5.12.22. 40/50 CHASSIS. VALVE GUIDE CLEARANCE/ In view of EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}'s recommendation and the fact that our Repair Dept. are at the moment actually working to it, that is to say, they are fitting valves to cars with .002" less clearance than that specified at present on our drawings, I propose that we should at once send through an alteration reducing the clearance in question, without delay. The clearances should be corrected by modifying the diameter of the valve stems, that is to say, that instead of the diameter of the valve stem being .433 minus 1, it will now be .435" minus 1, for both Inlet and Exhaust.
