PHILCO CAR RADIO SUPPRESSION EQUIPMENT THE plug and distributor head suppressors embody the result of six years' research and manufacturing experience, a suppressor must be capable of dissipating about 5 watts under extremely trying temperature conditions, it must be of a design that ensures complete damping of the H.F. oscillations produced by each spark, it must be mechanically sound both in the actual resistance element and assembly, and under no circumstances must they interfere with the correct functioning of the car ignition system. Philco suppressors can be relied upon to fulfil the above conditions absolutely. TYPE 4851. Double-ended screw suppressor for Lucas and similar distributor heads, it is also suitable for plugs when it is not possible to use Type 4531 or 33-1015. PRICE 1/8. +10% TYPE 4546. Plug-in distributor head suppressor for most American cars. PRICE 2/3 +10% TYPE 4531. For sparking plugs on most cars. It may be mounted vertically or horizontally. PRICE 1/8 +10% TYPE 33-1015. One end has a screw and taper end to take the H.T. cable, the other is arranged to clip on to the plug by means of the special nipple. It has been especially developed for such cars as Buick, Bentley, 95 and 105 Talbots, etc. Incidentally, it makes a very neat job, looking more like a bakelite terminal than a suppressor. PRICE 1/9 +10% NOTE.—The thread of the plug terminal should be specified when ordering so that the correct nipple can be supplied. R.R. 4851. Special distributor head suppressor for 25 and 40/50 Rolls-Royce and Rolls-Bentley cars. PRICE 1/8 +10% SUPPRESSION CONDENSERS Here again considerable experience and research have been necessary to perfect condensers which will be non-inductive, so that they will effectively by-pass H.F. interference to earth, withstand the abnormally high temperature conditions under all conditions, and be 100 per cent. reliable, as a faulty condenser on the coil would blow the fuses and stop the engine. A shorted condenser on the dynamo would burn it out. TYPE 4522. Large size with reversible clip for dynamo and coil. May also be used on ammeter, roof lamp, petrol pumps, windscreen wiper, or any other position where it is necessary to by-pass H.F. PRICE 2/4 +10% TYPE 30-4007. Small size for use in places where it is not desirable or possible to use 4522, such as windscreen wipers, ammeters, etc. PRICE 2/4 +10% | ||
