| PHILCO METALLIC CLOTH CAR AERIAL THE PERFECT CAR AERIAL at a REASONABLE PRICE 13/6 ROOF TYPE 19/6 RUNNING BOARD TYPE THE amazing technical advances made in Car Radio are completely neutralised if the aerial system is inefficient. Philco, after two years' careful research and extended road tests, have developed these aerials along entirely new lines (Patent applied for), which gives several hundred yards of fine conductors to collect the vital energy necessary to take full advantage of the A.V.C. action essential to prevent fading in built-up areas. In addition this new mesh aerial ensures good tonal quality and ability to pick up distant alternative programmes. Each wire used is definitely insulated from its neighbour, thus avoiding rushing noises, etc. Due to the large number of wires used, if several break no loss of strength will be apparent, a great advantage over the usual type of car aerial. THE ROOF AERIAL may be installed in any roof which is not covered with metal, of the fixed head, sliding roof, convertible, touring, enclosed drive or any other special type. It should be noted that this is the only type of aerial that can be used successfully in touring and convertible hoods, as it is entirely flexible and its bulk is no greater than that of an ordinary piece of cotton cloth. The Philco metallic cloth aerial on pick-up tests has shown its superiority over other types, in some cases indicating three times the signal strength. The aerial is properly protected against weather and road dirt. It may be fitted to any type of running board in a very short time. It is supplied complete with lead-in and fitting instructions.
