To By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell} c. By/CS. PHANTOM III. SUCTION FILTER. A standardisation sheet was issued for a guard on the lower half gauze strainer in accordance with LeC.5665. It has been pointed out by the Cost Office that this guard which is made up in 3 pieces E.84967/8 and E.89030 will cost approximately 1s. 9d. whereas if made in one piece as per the Bentley and 30.HP. (EB.1512) would cost approximately 9d. There is a note on LeC.5665 to the effect of it being a one piece job if the cost is reduced. Now that we have this information we consider that it should be standardised as a one piece job and is not necessary to be re-tested experimentally. Will you please modify the details accordingly, the material to be as for Bentley EB.1512 in S/DS. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell} | ||
