Any new cam forms for valves to be fitted with 50/100% range of spring pressure should have middle acceleration 25% inclination. We now think the 50% tried in 'SS{S. Smith}' is too great for practical reasons.

The foot of the cam and clearance are less refined on aero engines than on car engines, to ensure greater silence in cars, and greater reliability in aero engines.

In reviewing the work in progress we understand you are working out new curves of valve lift for the 'H' engine to particulars given in E1/M30.8.28., and for the EAC.10 engine to E2/M30.8.28. This same information should also be applied respectively to 'F' supercharged engines, and the new 20 HP. chassis engines of improved performance.
