Reverse = 12.9 1st. = 12.7 2nd. = 21.6 3rd. = 31 4th. = 37.1 The maximum speeds are 4 to 4 1/2 times the above, the tyres are 6.50 inches on 16 inch rims having an overall diameter of approx. 746 m.m. Transmission. The drive is taken from the gearbox to the rear axle by means of a universally jointed propeller shaft in two parts with three universal joints from which the rear axle shafts are driven through bevel gears and a bevel type differential gear, the reaction torque being taken by the rear springs of the chassis. The road wheels are detachable, and are mounted upon cylindrical hubs which are serrated in order to transmit the drive. Steering. is of the cam and roller type Turns of steering wheel from lock to lock = 2.8. Steering lock, left 41° right 41° Brakes. The car is provided with two systems of braking, the first is operated by a hand lever situated on the right hand | ||
