We expect to despatch this engine to Supermarine in 10 days time.

'H' engine. The engine which was flown in the Horsley machine has been back at the Works in order to have fitted to it the latest type blower and carburetter. This engine has done the 2 hrs. Acceptance Test and is being erected for the final test and will then be returned to Messrs.Hawkers.

The type test 'H' engine which will have fitted to it the latest type crankcase and latest strengthened 'H' type rods (these are different to the 'R' type) is expected to be completely erected by in 10 to 14 days.

F.{Mr Friese} engine. We are now flying the DH.{D. Henderson - Showroom}9. machine again with a M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} S/C. engine with the latest type carburetter. Arrangements have been made so that we are now carrying out these tests in conjunction with Hawkers instead of D.H.

Comparative tests have been made by Major Bulman (Hawker's pilot) and A.C.Lovesey which have proved the new blower to be a very great improvement over the existing blowers.

The A.M. have practically agreed to replace the existing blowers as soon as the new ones are available.

The type test on engine M.S. F.13 which is being run in order to establish a higher normal speed for the F.{Mr Friese} engines has been held up twice on account of the condition of the bearings after a preliminary run. On this test we were using mineral oil; BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} considers the trouble with the bearings is corrosion and it has been agreed that
