contd :- -2- 20 HP. The 20 HP. car with 3 1/4 bore has arrived at Chateauroux and the 10,000 miles test will have commenced. The programme is to run 500 miles per day. We have protested against Sales interferring with the boutine of the test and suggested that if anyone wishes to try this car they should go to Chateauroux. After the 9,000 miles is completed, we will hand the car over to Sales to complete the last 1,000 miles. We are now preparing a new 20 HP. car for Mr. Royce - 16-G4. We have received a new body and it is mounted on the chassis. R.{Sir Henry Royce} has expressly wished that this car should have the turbulent head. The engine is now being prepared and we hope to deliver the car to W.W. at the end of next week. We are preparing 2 more sets of material with the 3 1/4 bore similar to the car which is running the 10,000 miles test so that we can have duplicate cars running at Derby. EXPERIMENTAL AERO ENGINE WORK. 'R' engine. No.1. R.{Sir Henry Royce} engine in which we have broken the conn. rods and smashed the crankcase has now been re-built with a new crankcase and stronger conn. rods. This engine is on the bed and we expect to be running it full power tomorrow, Saturday. The 3rd. R.{Sir Henry Royce} engine which is intended to be used as a flight engine is expected to be completely erected this weekend. This engine will have new crankcase, latest strengthened rods, modifications to xxx carburetters etc. contd :- | ||
