X.7690. To EY. from EFC. To BY/RD. EFC3/T2.11.28. NICKEL SILVER CONTACT BREAKER LEVERS The levers referred to in your EY/RD3/ML15.8.28 have been duly put through, fitted with tungsten points and tested, each for 10,000 miles, and the following is the wording of my assistant's report WD.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}18 :- "We have now tested four of these levers for 10,000 miles (equivalent) on the bench rigs. The condition of the points (tungsten) shew that the riveting is satisfactory electrically and mechanically. With regard to the effect of the nitrous oxide produced by the jump spark distributor, we find that beyond slight discloration this is negligible. One of these levers is on the SS.{S. Smith} engine." Apparently, therefore, these nickel silver levers are satisfactory. We hand you for your inspection the four levers which have been run on test. EFC. | ||
