AMERICAN CYLINDERS.

Referring to my memo BY17/P251018 on the above subject, Mr Hives just informs me that he has discovered a fair number of leaks round the flanges of the pockets. This being so it will be necessary to modify my previous memo which referred to welding on the vertical seams only, so that the re-welding scheme will now cover the following parts:-

(a) Vertical side seams.
(b) Welding round the valve bends were jacket joins up to the flange on the bends.
(c) Welding the seam running across the top of the cylinder from valve bend to valve bend.
