x 6269 To By/Allwood. from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std.13/MH.{M. Huckerby}3.11.37. We wish to try out a brand of metallic packing known as "Plasco" in either Ph.III or Wraith water pumps. This packing does not require any spring pressure, merely an initial compression by means of the gland nut and a further slight tightening after running in. Will you please detail packing pieces to replace the springs in our Ph.III and Wraith pumps and enable us to put pressure on these glands in this manner, and instruct same to be made.
