It is certain that when we correct all the faults which we at present know to exist, there will still be a long list of others that so far have not shewn up.

If the faults on the "Peregrine" are taken seriously there is a great chance of producing a car which should have a long run on production without any serious modification. It can be accepted that the performance of the "Peregrine" will start off on about the top limit. There will not be the progressive improvement like we have had on the 20/25 HP.

The prospects of "Peregrine" are such that we may produce a lot of these cars quickly and therefore we think it would be fatal to start them off with faults which we know would bring service complaints and expense. If we go over our service complaints on present cars it is clearly shown that the expensive items are those which were known to exist when the cars were sold.

In the case of a new type of car like this, we think a 10,000 miles test is entirely inadequate. We suggest that we require two 20,000 miles tests in France, and one similar test in England.
