WEIGHT OF NEW PIPES ETC :- NEW. OLD. 'U' pipe -------- 4 lbs. 3 ozs. 2 lbs. 9 ozs. Jacketed bend - complete with gland, ring and nut -------- 3 lbs. 8 ozs. 2 lbs. 12 ozs. Nett increase = 4 lbs. 12 ozs. Tappet clearances at the starter were :- Inlet .020". Exhaust .030" cold. At the end of the test the clearances were again checked when the engine was cold.
