experienced on the 1B-Condor which had pipes of a simile style as this.

WEIGHT OF NEW PIPES ETC :-

NEW. OLD.
'U' pipe -------- 4 lbs. 3 ozs. 2 lbs. 9 ozs.
Jacketed bend - complete with gland, ring and nut -------- 3 lbs. 8 ozs. 2 lbs. 12 ozs.

Nett increase = 4 lbs. 12 ozs.

Tappet clearances at the starter were :-
Inlet .020". Exhaust .030" cold.

At the end of the test the clearances were again checked when the engine was cold.

No trouble was experienced with the valves or valve spring caps or wedges.

The new type priming pipe, the two-way branch of which is fastened on the top of the crankcase behind the breather, was quite O.K.
