Frequent fault with car bodies, specifically that the back seats are made too high.

X.3730 X.5880 X.8830 Regarding the bodies for RR. cars a very frequent fault is that the back seats are made too high. I do not know whether our instructions to the coachbuilders are correct, or whether the coachbuilders are to blame. The instance that came to my notice was the Windover body on India. Apart from this it was very simple in form, and I think not bad from a utility point of view. It had however an appearance that was hardly good enough, although I scarcely know why: it may have been due to the rather crude lines, or merely the combination of colours. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
