RE OVER-USE OF STARTER CARBURETTER AND PISTON SEIZURES.
------------------------------

With reference to H2/LH.{Mr Haworth}19.6.29. we were pointing out in our previous memo that on looking further into the matter we did not think it necessary to issue the pamphlet in the form submitted, as it was afterwards found that the instructions are already covered in the instruction books.

We are of the opinion that it is made sufficiently clear in the instruction books, and if it is considered necessary to issue any pamphlets to owners, then we need only draw attention to the importance of working to the instructions given.

We now see, however, that EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} is arranging for a label to be attached to each chassis, drawing attention to the matter, therefore it is now a question as to whether there is any need to go to the expense of issuing pamphlets at all in addition to the labels.

If the policy of attaching labels to chassis on these matter is correct then there is no need to issue the pamphlets under discussion, but our opinion is that we should issue the pamphlets and leave off the labels.

We would like to have your views on this matter, and in the event of you agreeing with us we will draw up fresh subject matter for the pamphlet.
