For the attention of Mr. West. Dear Sirs, We are very sorry to hear that, in the instrument submitted by us for testing out the new proposed mileage recorder, the trip recorder has ceased working. This is most unfortunate under the circumstances, as, of course, the total mileage scheme submitted is of smaller design and lay-out to the trip. We hope you will agree that, since we adopted the safety device to definitely prevent damage when the car is reversed, the trip recorder has given practically no trouble at all. The writer most sincerely hopes that you will not allow this trouble to affect your outlook on the question of the total mileage submitted, and that you will, therefore, continue your tests until their conclusion. On the other hand, if you would like us to adjust this instrument, it would only take a few minutes here, we should be very pleased indeed to deal with it the same day and return it to you for continuation of test. Assuring you always of our best services, we beg to remain, Yours faithfully, For THE A.T. SPEEDOMETER CO. LTD. [Signature of H.{Arthur M.
