X4421 EP {G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} c. SPT/Mr Brock. c. EFC. {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} BY2-P10.1.24. X.4421 20HP ELECTRICAL CUTOUT FAILURES. I have examined some of the above parts with the object of seeing whether the spring could move about sufficiently as to be the cause of erratic working of the Cutout. On the Cutouts I have examined personally I was not able to misassemble the spring in such a manner as to cause trouble. I have arranged with the D.O. that we shall ask the Works to have a little die made which will be somewhat smaller than drawing dimensions, and punch the location for the spring as a final operation, in order to try and give additional security by this special punch, but certainly nothing more than this is necessary.
