SINGLE LINE PETROL GAUGE.

X.4038.
X.7460.

The design we have had from WW. for this tank and gauge has been turned down by SG.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} because the gauge head looks unsightly and projects through the rear apron.
We think it is a great pity that the single line gauge should be allowed to pass out for reasons which are not concerned with fundamental difficulties. We have asked By/S.S. to look into the question of obtaining a further 1½ gallons capacity at the bottom of the tank and if we can get this without difficulty, we propose to fit a gauge which conforms to the makers requirements, and if the results prove satisfactory, we may be able to adopt the single line installation which should greatly reduce the cost and reasons for quarterly complaints.

Will you please issue the necessary details for this experimental tank when we have decided upon the final dimensions.
