Referring to the 3000 RPM. vibration, Mr. Royce is not satisfied that the test for proving that this is not due to the crankcase was sufficiently conclusive owing to the fact that Goshawk 1. is said to behave differently at this speed.

He would therefore like you to make another test, bolting steel plates 8" wide, and say 5/16" thick, between the top and bottom halves on each side of the Goshawk 11. crankcase.
