be probably less than you would get from a motor which is at or near saturation under it's normal working load.
Mr. Stent has made a drawing shewing the form of thin pan cake coils for the teazer circuit, which we enclose herewith - LeC.1728. We anticipate a teazer current of from 10 to 20 amps. This will be adjusted by the resistance of the teazer circuit plus the resistance of the actuating coil. With this 10 to 20 amps. we shall expect the normal flux to pass through the motor so that we want somewhere in the neighbourhood of 400 amps. turns per pole from the teazer circuit. It will be nearly entirely resistance but the pan cake coils and the actuating coil should not be in long enough to suffer from overheating.
We are suggesting that the teazer circuit shall be on all the poles and the series winding also on all the poles so as to avoid a distorsion of flux under maximum load.
We think also that it will be nearly as simple to construct.
Regarding the main series winding of the motor we should make this pro rata in current carrying capacity with the armature. We should not add any resistance to absorb volts intentionally but would prefer to put the copper in the coils and let the motor turn the engine faster. We think the point of view of making these fields of purposely higher resistance than is necessary would be wrong except in the case of the teazer circuit.
We now appear to be making good progress with the 40/50 RR. dynamo and also the smaller starter motor for the 40/50.
