To DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rn.{Mr Robinson} c. to BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} X7500 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}6/LG26.6.29. X7500 X7830 We have had trouble on experimental cars with the scuttle armature fouling the cast dash. It will be appreciated from the attached drg. LF.1260 that the acuttle armature rail has to be made of considerably reduced section to clear the cast dash and apparently coachbuilders are afraid of the armature failing and so put so much material at this point that the body rests on the dashboard. The direct result is that the semi isolation scheme does not function, and the body booms badly. We should like to know whether you see any prospect in a future design providing more room for the armature. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rn.{Mr Robinson} | ||
