Hancock - Head Chateauroux} 30-oa 32-EX. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}1/R.8.7.37. Referring to the complaint of petrol starvation, it is not necessary to become alarmed because testers in France find they can get signs of starvation under certain conditions with the pump in the frame. With the existing standard pump, under the extreme conditions which they are getting at Chateauroux, they can get intermittent petrol feed which persists for a number of miles. With the pump in the frame, the trouble persists for less than a minute. The fact that it was never experienced on the Sahara run under far higher temperatures shows that it rather a freak condition. Naturally, we want to eliminate the trouble altogether, but at present we consider that something less than 1% of our customers will ever even notice it. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
