High-pressure petrol pump failure on a 32-EX Phantom III in France.

PHANTOM III. High Pressure Petrol Pump in France. The rear half of the petrol pump with the steel rollers went out of action this morning, apparently due to the rollers jamming. They had not turned round at all, and there was rust where each one touched the pot. Apart from a very slight burr round the outer edge of the armature, there was no indication of it fouling the pot or pole pieces. The pump worked immediately the nuts were slacked off. The setting was correct - 3 holes. The diaphragm appeared in good condition. The rusty places were cleaned up and the pump re-assembled for further running.
