| C O P Y. S/W. H23/MD. 25.1.35. Complaint Case. Re Major G.S. Nelson Scott, Woodside, Giffnock, Renfrewshire. Chassis B-201-BL. This Owner recently wrote at length about sundry matters and complaints and the car has just been to K.{Mr Kilner} for attention to them. One of his criticisms was that the honest maximum speed available was nearer 85 than 90 and he claims that he cannot get the maximum revs on top speed. He suggested that possibly he had been wrong in specifying the high geared axle and he asked us to test the car and say whether this should be changed to the low geared axle K.{Mr Kilner} have reported that after their adjustments they got 90 m.p.h. at 4,000 revs and confirm that the owner still wishes to know whether we are prepared to change the axle gear and if so at what cost and whether the work can be done in Glasgow, either at Clyde Auto or Bentley Service Station. C. wishes you, therefore, to give your views as to whether a change of ratio would cure the performance and if it does to quote the customer for the cost of the change, stating at the same time whether the axle should come back to the Works, or what. H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} Copy of pencil note To Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Is it reasonable that max. speed will be improved by fitting 10/41 axle ? If not, what do you suggest ? Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/SB.{Mr Bull/Mr Bannister} 28.1.35. | ||
