x328 GRY{Shadwell Grylls}- Please follow-up Am C.E.L. Des. Mer. LHD. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} E/HDY.{William Hardy}1/HP.16.6.36. Phantom III - Gearbox. With reference to the rear bearing of the 1st motion shaft and our memo E/HDY{William Hardy}/1/HP.15.5.36 asking that this bearing should be tried with 13 balls instead of 18 and without gaps in the races, it appears that the box which will be fitted to the next 10,000 miles test car is likely to be of the present standard type and not of the new type with more flexible suspension. As the bearings already ordered for trial are to suit the new type box it will be necessary to order some for the present standard box also. Will you, therefore, kindly order bearings to suit both types of box. SJD G 84779 E/HDY.{William Hardy} | ||
