Our Ref.... HA/WM 11th November, 1937 1110 Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd., D E R B Y. FOR THE ATTENTION OF MR. CHANDLER. Dear Sirs, We are in receipt of your letter of the 8th instant, which has not been acknowledged previously, due to the fact that the Writer has been away at the Commercial Show. We would confirm that the Minutes enclosed with your letter would appear to cover the whole of the matter which was discussed during the Writer's and Mr. Barker's visit along with Mr. Thompson and Mr.Young of Tempered Spring Company. We are arranging to alter the spring as used in the Bentley Clutch, to the Black Spring with a nominal range of 155/170. We propose however to specially select these springs between 160/165 lbs., which means that when the spring has settled down, there should be no question of any being below the 150 lbs. mark, which you feel will give satisfactory results with any type of driver. We shall be pleased therefore if you will confirm that you are in agreement with this, by return of post. Yours faithfully, BORG & BECK COMPANY LTD.
