Proposal to modify the Wraith gearbox for the Bentley by reducing the 3rd speed gear ratio from .8 to .774.

N Sch. 4212 herewith shows the gears we propose for this box on the Bentley. The ratios are the same as now except for the 3rd. speed which is .774 instead of .8, a reduction of 3%. We suggest this reduction as the result of recent investigations which indicate that the 3rd. speed is at present too high. At .774 it will still be higher than would appear best for maximum performance but a compromise appears to be indicated in this case.
