To RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} (11 3 Kingsbury, March 31st, 1937. Bentley. Kingsbury are returning to the Works a new front axle received recently covered by advice note W.396. their order No.10607. Report upon this axle is as follows: We have received from Works one front axle beam GB.1224. We find that a drill is broken and wedged in the 7/64" dia. duct from the filter to the pivot pin feed hole nearside. We have made an attempt to remove the obstruction but without any success. ------- I have asked Kingsbury to label the axle for your attention, and a ring of red paint marks the faulty oil hole. Had not this fault been located the seizure of the n.s. pivot pin cross steering joint and brake mechanism would have occurred. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/G.W.Hancock. | ||
