6139. July 13th 1937 HW/Wst.9/AP. Messrs Joseph Lucas & Co.Ltd., Great King Street, BIRMINGHAM 19. For the attention of Mr. W.L.Robinson. Dear Sirs, Confirming our telephone conversation with you regarding the foot-switch failure on the Phantom III. chassis now running in France, we have now received a written report which states that the off-side lamp 'blacks-out' completely when dimming, and we believe this is due to the contact plunger not over-lapping the contacts when dimming. This is a very serious fault and one which we hope will be remedied immediately, so that there is no possibility of any further switches being delivered to these works capable of giving the same failure. We should like your confirmation of this. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
