Our experience with Shock Absorbers is such as would lead us to think that the Hydraulic Absorbers working in one direction should be standardised as soon as possible, for fitting to the rear of the car only.

These might be of our own make, the Houdaille or Triou, according to Mr Ionides and Mr Haldenby's experiments with them.

The difficulty seems to be to apply these as well as a decent luggage carrier, unless the supporting of the two can be combined in one fitting - See R6/P 18. 3. 14.

The only difficulty with our own pattern that I know of is the difficulty in keeping it full of oil.

I have a scheme to improve this greatly.

R.{Sir Henry Royce}
