Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}11/ML.8.8.40. MODIFICATIONS TO PATTERNS. RE. 132 EXHAUST MANIFOLD. 1/C. (1) The outlet branch core is .150 small on the diameter. (2) There is .050 surplus round the four faces. (3) The flanges of the four branches are tilted from .050 to .100. (4) General thickness varies from .150 to .190. no sections taken. A.E.W. RE. 107 CRANKCASE AND CYLINDERS 1/C. (1) The relief valve facing on pattern is positioned wrongly. (2) Two .500 dia. cored holes at front end of cylinder head joint are missing. (3) Water jacket core must be moved sideways .050 away from tappet cores. (4) All cores should be moved .040 towards cylinder head - this will misplace the four .627 dia. bosses in tappet cores - correct core box. (5) .750 dia. boss is missing from pattern on the pump drive housing. (6) See thin section of inlet ports * marked up sections to pattern shop. D.Lee. | ||
