(Note fan speed/engine speed ratios of Ph.III and Cadillac are respectively .89 and 1.14.

(c) It must be pointed out that the Cadillac car's fan (not the flexible type) is effective but not necessarily particularly efficient; it reduced the car's lap speed from 89.4 m.p.h. to 87.75 m.p.h.

SUMMARY.

We think we should try a fan on the Ph.III copied exactly from that on our Cadillac car (some comparative details of these fans are attached) this should give us a very considerable improvement in cooling. We are going to investigate the effect of cowling on our radiator but do not see at present how cowling could be used without affecting the appearance of the car.
