To RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} K1020 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell}1/JH. 20.6.36. Phantom III Bearings. Following the failure of the blade rod bearings with the centrifugal cast W/M on No.3 unit we understand you are producing another set for further endurance. In conjunction with the above will you please drill another .250 dia. hole in each of the crankshaft journals at 180° from the existing holes. To follow the test of the above will you please make up a set of marine rods with lead-bronze bearings using the minimum clearance for this type of metal. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/L.H.
