X1020 To Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Exptl. c. Mr Swindell. HL1/AG.23.6.36. Laboratory. Re: B14 Bentley Endurance Bearings after 100 hrs. AC.7 Alloy. Hardness 48 to 56 Br.{T. E. Bellringer - Repair Manager} This has probably increased owing to running, particularly in the case of the "big ends". As fitted Br.{T. E. Bellringer - Repair Manager} was usually 43 to 50. The composition is within specification. The micro-structure is normal. Swdl{Len H. Swindell}- what was the condition of these bearings? Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Hl. JHC | ||
