(1) That the improvements on 19-EX. now completing 10,000 miles are badly needed for the Standard Phantom. (2) That Peregrine is going to make owners dissatisfied with the maximum speed performance of the existing synchro-mesh 20/25's. (3) That a car to 19-G4. specification will have a very fine performance at top speeds, without sacrificing anything at low speeds (a standard camshaft is used) and that this performance can be obtained over the whole range without sacrificing Rolls-Royce smoothness. The two features required to produce this result in a manner acceptable for production are the R.R. semi-expanding carburetter and some form of petrol feed, presumably the R.R. petrol pump.
