RE. FITTING OF SHOCK ABSORBERS TO CHASSIS 1-LW.

We attach copy of memo. received from Mr. Archer on this matter.

We have, of course, regarded the ball ends as part of the shock absorbers, and none of the cars which have been despatched suitable for the adoption of the shock absorbers have got these ball ends fitted.

Is it a fact that it will be a difficult matter to fit these ball ends in the event of our sending men out at some later date to fit the shock absorbers, and should the ball ends in future be fitted on the axle brackets before chassis are despatched? If so, will you please arrange for the works to be instructed accordingly.
