with these last two instruments has been in this direction.

It might also be worth while ascertaining whether the outer frame of the instrument is a free fit in the wooden facia board, as if it were a tight drive-in fit, it might possibly distort the frame unit sufficiently to put a strain on the glass tube in this particular installation.

We do not think, however, that this latter point is a very likely solution of the trouble.
