RE - SUSPENSION BRACKET (SERVO) G.78066/7.

We have for some considerable time noticed that the friction load on the suspension bracket does not remain constant. An alteration was made in supplying the bijur feed to the bottom bearing to overcome oil getting on to the ferodo lining. We find however, that oil does get on to the friction surface when any leak from the bijur fitting takes place also when the gear box is washed down with paraffin this gets onto the friction surfaces.

To overcome the cause of this trouble we are of the opinion that the hollow rivets in the top cap should be filled with soft solder to prevent the ready access of oil and paraffin to the ferodo lining.
