| -2- Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std.1/MH.{M. Huckerby}4.7.38. It now transpires that the stiffener has been detailed for a .436 centre gap - the only alterations necessary on B.II to get the same gap are modified drill jigs for shutter top and bottom supports - the approx. cost of which Messrs.Marstons give as not more than £8. In view of this and the desirability of the stiffener making metallic contact with the shutters for sweating purposes, we would like to know whether By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} agrees to this extra tool expenditure - if so we will instruct Messrs. Marstons to proceed accordingly. The new drill jig will be usable for B.III pieces and will be made without interrupting production supplies. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std. | ||
