re Bentley 6 - Front End.

We have already sent you the Rationalised radiator PL.236 for the Bentley 6. It will be appreciated that this car is fundamentally a Silver Ripplet with a Bentley radiator and bonnet.

On PL.353 (original sent to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/HH) we shew the Frontal Appearance and the dimensions of the bonnet.

The following full size schemes are required :-
1. Bonnet, with fixed side plates.
2. Bonnet valance strips.
3. Wingstays and headlamp and horn supports.
4. Front apron and starting handle bearing.
5. Bumper and brackets.
6. Fog Lamp Brackets.

The above schemes will be done by Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} with the help of Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/HH in due course.

It will be noticed that we have shewn a special design of headlamp, mounted on the catwalk to harmonise with the appearance in general, and we shall design this lamp externally with a view to its being produced for all cars of the Senior Range, except possibly Silver Phantom and Silver Wraith which will have the R.100 as already instructed.

We have to fit suitable horns, housed under the catwalk.

The tyres are 6.000 in section, and cannot be 6.500 in section as on B.V. if a side spare wheel is used. A subsequent scheme will shew a side spare wheel carrier and 6.500 ins. section tyres, which will be made possible by a yoke piece raised .500 ins. which is in the course of design consideration, and a slightly higher side spare wheel position, coupled with a small increase in the cut out of the off side front door. At the moment the side spare wheel carrier is that of Silver Ripplet.

A study of PL.286 will shew that we have passed the front apron under the radiator as suggested by Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/EAG. this facilitating the erection of the front wings and apron.
