To Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} [REDACTED] BY/RD.6/B.12.3.37. 4 1/4 Litre Bentley - Electrical. Referring to your note of the 9th. inst., the reason for the breakdown is due to the cable being pulled tight as you say, and shorting on to the earthing strip around which its course takes it. We have instructed the Works immediately, to thread the cable between this strip and the case, so that in future pulling will ensure that the cable is taut on to the Bakelite boss. We cannot understand the reason for pulling this conductor tight as ample length is left to do the particular job in question. BY/RD. | ||
